The Great Voyage

The 'Associazione Culturale Città d’Arte' in Rimini is organizing:
“Il Grande Viaggio, l’arte contemporanea tra identità e alterità. Un progetto internazionale tra Rimini e Mediterraneo. 2009-2016 e oltre”.
(The Great Voyage, Contemporary Art between identity and diversity. An international project in Rimini and the Mediterranenan. 2009-2016 and beyond).

The shores of Mare Nostrum have spoken to each others since the dawn of time and their waters united all the civilizations living on it,
the Mediterranean sea is the first horizons that, we italianians and europeans, are facing. Mediterraneo also means, the centre of interest of continental Europe,
the crossroad and goal of an ancient narrative, a contemporary meditation on man and history.

Over the waters of the ancient mediterranenan sea a common feeling can be felt and a trace be found:
the one expressed by the works of art of its artist and poets.

The project is about contemporary Art and Poetry in the Mediterranean, because, since Europe today gathers around itself new realities and peoples,
the numerous countries restart to eye each other and artists and poets are the first to discover it.

FIRST ITINERARY

- First event - Summer 2009: "SISMONDI - Moti d’arte e poesia contemporanee" (SISMONDI - Contemporary Art and Poetry Movements)

- Second event - Summer 2009: “Selezione Premio Rimini 2009”

- Third event - Summer 2010: “Premio Rimini” Prized Exhibiton for poets and artists

SECOND ITINERARY

“Confini Vicini (Close Frontiers) ”, “Arcipelaghi di luce (Light's Archipelagos) ” , “Laggiù (Down There)”

A series of meeting on Art which will be organized in various countries where sinergies between artists, poets and cultural promoters are built.
In 2009-2011the destinations will be: Athens, Istanbul, Jerusalem and the oriental coasts of the Adriatic Sea.
